The University of Delhi provides residential facilities through Twenty hostels that accommodate outstation students enrolled in regular courses. These hostels are distributed across the North and South Campuses, with certain hostels designated exclusively for male or female students. Each hostel is fully furnished and offers a range of room types, including single, double, and multiple-occupancy arrangements. In addition to accommodation, hostels provide essential services such as dining facilities, recreational spaces, security measures, and medical support, thereby fostering a conducive environment for students transitioning to life in a new city.
In alignment with its commitment to inclusivity, the University reserves five percent of hostel seats specifically for students with disabilities. Furthermore, priority is accorded to these students for ground-floor accommodations to facilitate ease of access and mobility. These provisions underscore the University’s broader institutional policy of promoting equity, accessibility, and support for students with diverse needs, thereby ensuring that residential life remains an integral and inclusive component of the academic experience.

The Braille Library, a special unit of the Delhi University Library System (DULS), was established in 1976 with the aim of providing accessible reading materials for visually impaired users. The library began modestly with a few audio cassettes and tape recorders in a small single room, and has since grown into a comprehensive facility. The digitization process commenced in 2013, marking a transition from traditional to digital audio recording through three soundproof studios. The library is located on the ground floor of the Tutorial Building at the North Campus, University of Delhi, and houses a reading room with a 20-seat capacity, an editing room, a Braille production room, and a stack room for the preservation of physical materials. A Braille embosser is also in use to provide Braille outputs, while powerful scanners facilitate the preparation of accessible e-text and e-pub formats. The library offers a wide range of Braille books, audiobooks, and assistive technologies, with trained staff available to assist visually impaired students and faculty in navigating resources and supporting independent learning, all in line with the University of Delhi’s commitment to inclusive education. https://bl.du.ac.in/bl/web/
